I didn't know about the Vertigo/NxNW/Psycho relationship.<br /><br />Regarding comparing directors to specific rock stars (rather than just the general idea of rock stars), I'm not sure I ever would have compared Quentin Tarantino to Elvis. When I think of Elvis, I think of someone who was treading a path that had never been travelled, being the first to make all the mistakes that future rock stars could either learn from, or ignore and possibly repeat. Perhaps Orson Welles would be the Elvis of movie directors, with HItchcock being The Beatles?
